WYC Season under way
The season is now well and truly under way with some exciting racing taking part. Mixed weather conditions has added to the fun.
The first regatta of the season was won by Simon Hastings in his Solo followed very closely by Robin Wilson in his Europe and Andy and Charlotte Prior in their National 12
The second regatta proved very challenging with strong gusty winds throughout the day. Making the most of the conditions were Neal Tack and Tom Bell in a Graduate but they were closely followed by Richard and Jean Thacker in their Wayfarer. Chris Prior took a gallant third despite numerous capsizes
Guests are always welcome, whether regular sailors or those interested in taking up sailing for the first time. The clubhouse is well equipped with a licensed bar, kitchen, ladies and gents showers. The club also has a number of boats, which are available for members use. The River Welland provides competitive, close racing with navigable water for nearly two miles including two bends meaning all aspects of sailing are always available. New members are actively encouraged and training can often be given, both formal and informal.
This year is the club's 60th anniversary and a dinner dance is being organised at the South Holland Centre on the 6th November - everyone is welcome and tickets are available from Sarah Prior
